"This chic gastropub offers half-timbered or alfresco dining, with dishes such as silky carpaccio or wonderful pan-fried monkfish. Choose from home-made pesto (divine), tapas or platters for picking, sumptuous desserts, including the moreish 'selection of indulgences', and a respectable wine list. Once you've eaten, head for the terrace to watch the sun go down with a pint of Timothy Taylor Landlord or a jug of sangria. Two courses of large portions for about £15 is great value for food of this quality."
